Glenview Teen Girl Found Shot Dead Remembered for Kindness as Police Search for Suspect
A tragic incident in suburban Glenview has left a community grieving after a 16-year-old girl, identified as Lilly Bova, was found shot and killed inside an apartment over the weekend.
Authorities say the teen was discovered around 11 a.m. Saturday in an apartment located in the 3600 block of South Salem Walk in unincorporated Glenview. According to the Cook County Sheriff’s Office, the case is being treated as an isolated incident and does not appear to pose an ongoing threat to the public. However, investigators are actively searching for a suspect.
Family members and friends are remembering Lilly Bova as a kind-hearted and positive young girl who made a lasting impact on everyone she met. Her cousin, Gabriella Cruz, described her as someone who always maintained a hopeful outlook despite life’s challenges.
“She always had a positive outlook, and that is something that impacted me so much,” Cruz shared.
The loss has also deeply affected the school community at Glenbrook South High School, where Bova was a student. School officials described her as bright, compassionate, and mature beyond her years. Principal Dr. Barbara Georges said her “kind-hearted and optimistic nature will be sorely missed.”
As the investigation continues, the Glenview community remains in mourning, remembering a young life taken too soon while hoping for answers and justice in the days ahead.
Authorities urge anyone with information related to the case to come forward as efforts to identify and apprehend the suspect continue.
