Authorities in Germantown, Maryland have arrested two teenagers in connection with a shooting that occurred inside a Giant Food store, according to Montgomery County Police Department.

Police identified the suspects as 19-year-old Marcus Isaiah Jovon Braithwaite and 16-year-old Demba Tandia. Both are now facing serious charges, including attempted murder, following the violent incident that took place on March 20, 2026.

Incident Details

Investigators say the shooting happened around 8:40 p.m. at a Giant Food store located on Leaman Farm Road. According to reports, the two suspects entered the store shortly before the victim arrived. Moments later, the victim—whose identity has not been released—was allegedly chased throughout the store by the suspects.

During the pursuit, gunfire was reportedly exchanged, leaving the victim injured. Emergency responders transported the victim to a nearby hospital. Officials have not yet disclosed the victim’s current condition.

Police Investigation and Arrest

Following the incident, authorities launched an investigation and issued a public alert seeking information about the suspects. Their efforts led to the arrest of both individuals, who are now in custody awaiting further legal proceedings.
